Is it possible to make the snacks in race goodie bags suitable for even more people, I wonder?

Yesterday I ran a rare mid-week race, Run the River 10k in London. Being a Tuesday night, I had to hastily change into my running kit in the loo at the office and walk the couple of miles from where my office is located over to the race start, straight after finishing a long day of work.

Toronto Veg Food Fest

Being new(ish) to Canada, and even newer to the world of veganism, this was my first experience of the annual Toronto Veg Food Festival. Now in its 30th year (so, all good things are 30 this year, then?!) it is the largest veg festival in North America, attracting around 40,000 people over the course of the weekend. It takes place at the Toronto Harbourfront Centre, which is coincidentally one of my favourite places in the city as it is, not surprisingly, right by the water. The festival includes cooking demonstrations, talks, many, many vegan vendors, live music and a wealth of information about adopting a compassionate, green lifestyle. And best of all, its free!

Life Out of The Box. A wonderful cause.

A little while ago I started to follow the blog for Life Out of The Box, a great social venture which provides school supplies to children in Nicaragua, Guatemala or Morocco in return for your purchase of a locally-made, hand woven bracelet. Not only does this mean that the children who need them most gain school supplies, but the production of the bracelets brings much needed work to artisans in these areas. I think it is a wonderful idea and I wanted to be a part of it.
